Welcome to website designed exclusively to promote and sell David Mackin's new album 'The Poetry Pot'. The album can be bought from the shop in CD format and it is now also alvailable in downloadable form from iTunes.
After months of hard work the album is finally here and this website has been designed to offer you a multimedia experience to accompany the release. Here you can listen to the songs, watch videos and explore the inspiration behind the songs on offer.
It is hoped to provide a video for each song so please pop back soon to see the new content as it is rolled out. The website is still in development so there is much more to come.

The Poetry Pot
What's it all about then?
The Poetry Pot is David Mackin's long awaited second solo album consisting of 12 new songs displaying a variety of styles. Originally the album intended to offer modern realizations of some of the classic poems of all time but, as the project grew, it took a completely different direction.
There are twelve original songs on the album and, as with the previous album The Hermitage Suite, you will find two songs by writers who have heavily influenced David's work. 'Return To The Valley Of Out Come The Freaks' is a classic Was Not Was song and 'Northern Sky' is an incredible Nick Drake composition that fits nicely with the flavour of this album.
Here at Mackin Music we believe that the art of an album is the journey of listening to each track in order. This album does tell a story and its exploration should find emotional grounding for many people. Happy listening.
